The terms on which you read the index and buy what it sells.
In force from September 10, 2026. This page is between you and AI Indexes LLC, the publisher of this site.
The index is free to read and its record is free to download. Everything published here is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. You may copy it, quote it, chart it and publish it commercially, provided you credit the IT AI Recommendation Index and link to it.
You may not present it as your own work, state or imply that it endorses a product, or alter a figure and keep attributing it here.
The index records what a set of large language models answered when asked the same buying questions, and what a disclosed judge model labeled in those answers. It is a measurement of model output. It is not a review, a ranking of product quality, a certification, or advice. The Disclaimers set that out in full and form part of these terms.
Two things are for sale: a single edition pack, and a subscription to every edition on the Standard or the Expanded Edition Pack. Prices are shown on the Subscribe page.
What is sold is the measurement, not a say in it. No payment changes a label, a share, a rank, a verdict, or the order of anything on this site; a category run for a subscriber is collected, judged and scored by the same method as the public index, and the subscriber sees the result when it is compiled, in the pack bought for it. No ratings are solicited or accepted from vendors.
Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for every sale. Your contract of sale, your payment, your invoice, any tax charged and any refund are handled by Lemon Squeezy under their terms. These terms govern your use of the index and what the thing you bought contains.
A subscription renews until you cancel it. The price you subscribe at is the price you keep for as long as it stays active, even as the list price steps up with later editions. Cancel at any time and access runs to the end of the period already paid for. Refunds are on the Refunds page.
This is worth stating plainly, because it is unusual. The pack carries the same CC BY 4.0 license as the rest of the index, and the free record of each edition follows on the Data page fourteen days later. You are not buying exclusivity or a private dataset, and nothing is withheld from anyone forever.
You are paying for the work of joining it, the form it arrives in, and the timing: every edition flattened into files that answer a question directly, your own rows separated out, the movement tables against the previous edition, and delivery on the day the edition compiles rather than after the embargo.
Claiming is free and open to a representative of the product. A claim is verified by email: an address at the product’s own domain is approved automatically, any other address is reviewed by hand.
A claim gives you a named contact on the page, a one-line description marked as supplied by you, notice when an edition publishes, and the right to propose corrections to the vendor table. Corrections cover the names a judge wrote that should or should not read as your product, and each one is applied by version and listed in the change log.
A claim gives you no change to any label, share, rank or verdict, no preview before an edition publishes, no say over which quotes appear, and no right to have the page removed. Claiming changes nothing in the data.
Read it, cite it, script against the published files. Do not do anything that degrades the service for other readers, and do not use the site to impersonate the index or its correspondence.
Product names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners and are used to identify the products the models named. Their appearance is not a partnership, sponsorship or endorsement in either direction.
The person who operates this index also operates a product that appears in it. That product is in the vendor table so that a model naming it is published like any other label, and it received no special handling in collection, scoring or publication. The full policy is in the method, and the disclosure appears on that product’s own page and in the footer of every page.
The index is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, no warranty is given that it is accurate, complete, current or fit for a particular purpose, and it should not be the only basis for a purchasing decision.
To the extent the law allows, the total liability of AI Indexes LLC to you for anything arising out of the index or these terms is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim arose, or to nothing if you paid nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
These terms may change. The date at the top is when the current version came into force, and a material change to what a subscription includes is told to subscribers by email rather than only posted here.
These terms are governed by the law of Arizona, United States, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction. If any part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still stands.
